CHAPTER XXXIII

RESOLVING CONFLICT IN A WISE COMMUNITY

copyright 1999, 2006 by Arthur M. Jackson

Mediation is an important resource for resolving human conflicts. Such conflicts must exist even in a Wise Community. Since a Wise Community must establish processes that solve conflicts in such a way that all persons involved can continue their path towards becoming a Wise Person, mediation might be one of these processes. Mediation, then, might be brought directly into all situations where conflicts occur. In addition to the traditional processes of mediation science has recently uncovered additional ways to resolve conflict when all parties are looking for fair solutions.

These processes involve mathematical models that are particularly useful in dividing things -- during divorce, a cake, natural resources, political disputes, contract negotiations, etc. The follow article [1] provides some ideas on this matter.

This material will be added and the chapter expanded as time and circumstances permit.
